Well, summer is at an end, the light is fading, the wind has got a chill to it and we thought it was time to think about what to do with the bus over Winter?
We considered three options, 1. keeping it on the road, 2. putting it in undercover motorhome storage or the 3rd and the one we finally plumped for! We decided to bring the the bus in off the road and put it away until spring.
We bought a huge tarpaulin and wrapped the bus up like a giant camper van parcel to keep the worst of the weather off.
So with the autumn leaves transforming the ground into some exotic carpet and colours glowing as the afternoon sun sinks low in the sky, and our trusty bus stored for the winter, we will say goodbye for now.
We look forward to Spring and unwrapping the giant green present in the corner of the garden and starting another year of Journeys Close to Home. Please come back and travel with us!
Have an enjoyable and productive Autumn/Winter and we will see you again in the Spring!

I hope you were gentle with the cats when you broke the bad news to them! What on earth are they going to do for excitement now!!!
Hope the 'bus 4 us' stays safe and cosy in its hibernation! But dont you hibernate.... love your blogs!
Shhh! I haven't told the Cats yet! ;-)
No chance of me hibernating - I am a blog addict (as you know!)
Thanks for dropping in Barbara.
Spring is here! Any plans for the van to come out from under the sheet!?
Hi Dave, good to see you here. :-)
Yes, the bus is out from under the sheet and sailed through its MOT last week! Curtains are back in and it is ready to go. . . BUT, we are thinking of selling it (I know, I know, I don't like talking about it!) and buying a much smaller van to use as a day van, as we never really got to do much more than day trips and a smaller van that could be used as our main transport too would be better for that. (Oh ho, I can feel another conversion coming on!) lol
I am trying not to think about the selling bit too much, (I am very attached to the bus) but I can see the logic.
How are things with you and Donna, are you planning lots of trips this year?
Thanks for popping in. :-)
Hi,
Maybe Joe wants to get stuck into another build ;)
I think you will have no problem selling the van, but maybe you should hold off, enjoy her for another year, then sell her in the new year when prices are higher...
Lucy still needs a clutch, so we may get it sorted in time for the summer, with a house to restore though its one big juggling act!
Look forward to some more posts from guys.
Dave
